NAEM Seeks Respondents for Benchmark on EHS & Sustainability Skills

August 25, 2014 /3BL Media/ - Today NAEM announced the launch of a new benchmarking study to identify the skills, knowledge areas and attributes of environment, health and safety (EHS) and sustainability professionals. The survey is the latest phase of the association’s ongoing research into the organizational design, skills and staffing of the EHS& sustainability function.   With questions that address both technical and ‘soft’ skills, as well as knowledge areas and responsibilities, the survey findings will provide a detailed portrait of the diverse capabilities of the professionals who are leading a broad range of regulatory compliance and sustainability activities for their companies.   NAEM Executive Director Carol Singer Neuvelt said the research is part of the association’s commitment to providing its members with robust, actionable data.   “At a time when the EHS&S function is being tasked with doing more with less, senior managers need peer-based benchmarking data to help them to put the right employees in the right positions,” she said.   Developed in collaboration with a committee of NAEM members, the survey includes questions to help hiring managers understand how the educational background, average salary and years of experience for professionals at various levels compare to those at their peer companies. The results will also reveal how hiring leaders staff their organizations by risk level and geography.   The survey will be open for participation until September 5.
