CHICAGO, ILL., April 23, 2015 /3BL Media/ – March of Dimes, the nation’s leading non-profit organization for maternal and infant health, today announces the expansion of its partnership with longtime supporter, The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc., parent company of Carson's department stores. Carson’s is supporting the expansion of the March of Dimes Becoming a Mom/Comenzando Bien and additional education programs, which expands prenatal education and curriculum to hundreds of expectant mothers throughout the greater Chicago area.

Carson’s will announce its support of the Becoming a Mom/Comenzando Bien program expansion at the 2015 DuPage March for Babies, which will be held on Sunday, April 26 at the Naperville Riverwalk. The announcement, which will be made in front of thousands of people during the remarks preceding the walk, will not only highlight Carson’s support of March of Dimes, but will also recognize the extensive fundraising done by local Carson’s associates who have participated in the walk for 31 years. For more information about Sunday’s event, please visit marchforbabies.org.

The Becoming a Mom/Comenzando Bien program is a bilingual curriculum designed for pregnant women and women of childbearing age to learn about healthy pregnancies in a supportive group setting. Funding for expansion of the two programs was made possible through Bon-Ton’s participation in the CBS EcoMedia WellnessAd program.

“Carson’s funding will allow March of Dimes to improve programs and outreach to additional communities in the Chicago area,” said Dr. Bree Andrews, March of Dimes volunteer and committee member.

“Carson’s is proud of our long-standing commitment to support March of Dimes” said Steve Byers, Executive Vice President of Stores for The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc.  “We are thrilled to expand our partnership with programs that will provide hundreds of women in the greater Chicago area access to education and prenatal care.”
