LA Galaxy Donates $10,000 to United Way of Santa Barbara County in Support of Thomas Fire & Flood Fund
Galaxy meets with Thomas Fire and Mudslide first responders prior to preseason match vs. Fresno FC in Santa Barbara, Calif.
AEG’s LA Galaxy recently donated $10,000 to United Way of Santa Barbara County in support of the Thomas Fire & Flood Fund following the severe aftermath of the wildfires and flooding that affected the Santa Barbara area in December 2017.
In addition to the team’s donation, the Galaxy hosted 75 first responders and individuals affected by the natural disaster for a private meet-and-greet with the entire first-team roster and coaching staff prior to the Galaxy vs. FC Fresno preseason match at Harder Stadium in Santa Barbara, Calif.
“This is an extremely important cause for something that affected so many people in Santa Barbara County,” said LA Galaxy President Chris Klein. “Playing in this area on Feb. 15, we wanted to ensure a way to support these relief efforts and honor those who have been affected by these tragedies. We were thrilled to meet these brave men and women in Santa Barbara.”
During halftime of the match, the LA Galaxy presented a check to United Way of Santa Barbara for the United Way Thomas Fire & Flood Fund.
