Kaiser Permanente Ranked Among LATINA Style Magazine's Best Companies for Latinas to Work for in the United States
OAKLAND, Calif., September 6, 2013 /3BL Media/ - Kaiser Permanente has been ranked No. 6 on the LATINA Style 50, LATINA Style Magazine’s annual list of the 50 best companies for Latinas to work for in the United States. Kaiser Permanente has ranked in the top 10 every year since 2009.
The list is a result of a comprehensive evaluation of corporate America's appreciation for the value of diversity in the workplace; it is designed to identify organizations that are providing the best career opportunities for Latinas. Each company was evaluated on several criteria, including number of Latina executives, mentoring programs, Latina board members, employee benefits, women's issues, and affinity groups.
“We are honored that our enduring commitment to an inclusive workplace has received this valued recognition,” said Ronald Copeland, MD, FACS, chief diversity and inclusion officer at Kaiser Permanente. “Our goal is to optimize the talents, skills and leadership capability of our highly diverse workforce at all organizational levels, to ignite health care transformation and inspire innovation that benefits our members and communities.”
“I am so proud to work for an organization that celebrates diversity,” Hernandez Tirey said. “At Kaiser Permanente, diversity is viewed as an asset and my perspectives and experiences as a Latina are valued along with my professional skills and expertise.”Kaiser Permanente will be featured in the August special issue of LATINA Style Magazine, alongside a profile of Latina executive Catherine Hernandez Tirey, vice president of Brand Communication at Kaiser Permanente.
The LATINA Style 50 Companies will be honored on Feb. 6, 2014 during the publication’s Diversity Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C.
