The event commemorated the 15th year in Hyundai's fight against pediatric cancer through its nonprofit foundation, Hyundai Hope On Wheels®. Mr. Krafcik was accompanied by C.J. George, Hope On Wheels National Youth Ambassador, Hyundai dealers, other Hyundai executives, and representatives from the Hope & Heroes Children's Cancer Fund at Columbia University Medical Center.

Hyundai Hope On Wheels will officially launch its 2013 program during a special press conference on Thursday, March 28 at the New York International Auto Show. The event will feature Hope On Wheels' first of eighty donations it will award in 2013 to pediatric cancer institutions engaged in life-saving research, totaling more than $14 million. By the year's end, Hope On Wheels will surpass $72 million in total donations since its inception in 1998 in pursuit of a cure. This level of support places Hyundai among the leading funders – public or private – of pediatric cancer research in the nation.
