FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Dec. 1, 2015 /3BL Media/ - Thanks to a unique partnership with ArtServe and CBS EcoMedia’s WellnessAd program, Florida Department of Health in Broward County (DOH-Broward) is contributing to Art to End AIDS, a new public mural project that is part of the broader HIV Ends With Me and Broward Greater Than AIDS campaigns.

Building on its longstanding commitment to local partnerships, DOH-Broward is working with ArtServe to launch the public mural project today with a call to artists. The mural, to be created in Broward County, will depict images and messages that promote the HIV Ends With Me themes of being tested and knowing your HIV/AIDS status, and will be revealed in conjunction with the annual United States Conference on AIDS to be held in Fort Lauderdale in fall 2016.

“The arts have always supported the AIDS movement,” said Evelyn Ullah, Director, HIV/AIDS and Viral Hepatitis Program, DOH-Broward. “Through this mural project, we will extend the reach of our HIV Ends With Me and Broward Greater Than AIDS campaigns, to create an enduring public awareness message on HIV/AIDS prevention and awareness for the citizens of Broward County.”

“ArtServe is thrilled to work with Florida Department of Health Broward County on this important community project,” said Jaye Abbate, President and CEO of ArtServe. “By engaging local artists and the broader community, we will create a vibrant public art piece that also communicates a vital public health message.”
