EcoMedia Teams Up with Energizer to Launch “The Energizer Positivity Project” on CBS.com
Sponsored by Energizer, Multimedia Site Provides Green Tips, Highlights Energizer Energy Programs and Invites Users to Vote on an Environmental Project to Receive an Energizer EcoAd Grant
(3BL Media) New York, NY October 13, 2011 - EcoMedia and Energizer today announced the launch of a new environmentally-focused program on CBS.com called “The Energizer Positivity Project”. The site features green-focused tips, behind-the-scenes videos detailing green initiatives among CBS’s offices and shows, and invites users to vote on a “green” project they think is most worthy of receiving an Energizer-sponsored EcoAd grant.
Together, EcoMedia and Energizer have identified three environmental projects that are underfunded, yet critical to the communities they serve. Starting today, users can vote for the program they believe should win a $60,000 EcoAd grant from Energizer. In addition to being the recipient of the EcoAd dollars, Energizer will also contribute supplies to the winning project.
Users can vote once a day for one of three projects which include:
- The Hope Manor Housing for Homeless Veterans in Chicago is seeking needed funds to support the installment of a solar thermal hot water system in a building designed to house 80 American veterans. Hope Manor's goal is to help homeless veterans improve their lives by promoting self-sufficiency, building new skills, creating strong support networks and integrating more positively into community life. - The Gardena Environmental Charter Middle School in Los Angeles is seeking funding to contribute to the installation of solar panels on a new middle school campus in an underserved area of Los Angeles. The renewable energy project aims to energize the school and community, bringing awareness, clean energy and a healthy learning environment for today’s students and generations to come. More info.
- The San Francisco Zoo is seeking funds that will be used to increase water efficiency and renewable energy at the Zoo through the addition of a Solar Car Port and the installation of a state-of-the-art water filtration system in a marine animal exhibit. This system will help the Zoo greatly reduce its water consumption. More info.
“Energizer is committed to helping make a positive difference in communities across the country. Spreading positivity and providing long-lasting products are at the core of our new communication platform, now that’s positivenergyTM,” said Michelle Atkinson, Vice President of North America Marketing for Energizer. “We’re proud to be able to bring recognition to each of the groups selected by the Energizer Positivity Project and know that each of the communities is going to benefit so greatly by the good works being done by each of these groups.”
"We are extremely pleased that Energizer has chosen our EcoAd Program to help bring its ‘Positivity Project’ campaign to life,” said Paul Polizzotto, President and Founder of EcoMedia. “Our whole model is designed to create a more meaningful dialogue between brands and consumers by integrating tangible community benefits into conventional advertising campaigns. This Energizer promotion leverages the EcoAd Program's efficiencies beautifully. As excited as we are about bringing beneficial community projects to fruition, we are even more excited to see people across the country rallying around their favorite projects and casting their votes for ‘Positivity.’"
EcoMedia’s EcoAd program provides advertisers with the option of purchasing advertising that will deliver added value beyond a traditional marketing campaign. With the purchase of every EcoAd package, a portion of dollars spent goes directly toward funding environmental and clean energy projects, all of which have been identified by local municipalities and public entities as being critical.

About CBS EcoMedia Inc.
At EcoMedia we're propelled by the desire to create positive social change; that's been our mission since we founded the company in 2002. Our premise? That the billions of dollars spent annually in advertising represent a tremendous reservoir of untapped resources – resources that should be directed toward bricks-and-mortar projects which benefit local communities. We develop and nurture a wide-ranging network of partnerships with municipal governments and NGOs nationwide, and connect them with corporations eager to improve the quality of life in the communities they serve.
The result is our EcoAd program, a profoundly innovative twist on traditional advertising, which we have protected through a robust patent portfolio development program. Through our proprietary service we are able to efficiently redirect a portion of every EcoAd-branded media buy to fund much-needed environmental projects in communities all across the country.
The EcoAd program aims to create jobs, save taxpayer money and improve the environment. In the process, we're fundamentally altering the advertising landscape, elevating the ordinary commercial –and socially responsible media, in general – into a catalyst for real, quantifiable, and measurable change.
EcoAd is not a certification program, nor is the EcoAd logo a seal of approval. EcoMedia does not in any way certify, endorse or make any representations about EcoAd advertisers, their products or services. For more information visit: ecoad.cbs.com.
