(3BL Media) Denver, CO – Over 200 enthusiastic young baseball players taking part in the Cal Ripken Chevy Youth Baseball Clinic were on hand at City Park along with Denver Parks and Recreation officials, and representatives from the Colorado Chevrolet Dealers and CBS EcoMedia to celebrate the new LED scoreboard being installed at nearby Swansea park.

The event was emceed by CBS4’s weather forecaster, Justin McHeffey, and featured remarks by Erin Brown, Deputy Manager of Recreation, Denver Parks and Recreation, Don Johnson of the Colorado Chevrolet Dealers Association and EcoMedia’s President and Founder, Paul Polizzotto.

The new energy efficient scoreboard was funded through a partnership between EcoMedia and the City and County of Denver Department of Parks and Recreation and came from Chevy’s EcoAd advertising.  The LED scoreboard is part of a full-scale renovation of Swansea Park, which includes new baseball fields featuring new sod and a state-of-the-art energy and water efficient irrigation system. The project is projected to significantly reduce both energy usage and water usage at the park.

Swansea Park had been under-utilized in recent years and was in need of major revitalization.  The upgraded recreational space is expected to be used by the large number of children in the surrounding neighborhoods.

“EcoMedia is proud to be part of helping Swansea Park’s rejuvenation and grateful to the Colorado Chevrolet Dealers for providing the financial support that made adding the new LED scoreboard possible,” said Polizzotto. “Bringing this park back to life is important to the Swansea neighborhood and important to us.  We hope to partner with the City of Denver on many more projects like this.”

Denver Parks and Recreation provides over 200 city and mountain parks, and several more rivers and trail areas  for the enjoyment of residents and visitors year round. From hikers, to volleyball players, to picnickers, bike riders and even the family dog, Denver’s parks serve our diverse citizens and neighborhoods with trees, flowers, trails, ponds or lakes, picnic areas, play grounds, activities and a variety of attractions and events. The mountain parks offer pleasant retreats into nature and history, and an opportunity to explore the edges of wilderness. Our parks are also the sites of monuments and fountains, public art, historical artifacts and architectural treasures put in place to commemorate great people and important times in history.  The parks are also highly valued by citizens for their accessibility and environmental sustainability. Special programs involving the public and civic leaders helps to ensure responsible usage, conservation, management of concessions and more. Our programs include activities for volunteers and assistance with trees citywide.

At EcoMedia, we're propelled by the desire to create positive social change; that's been our mission since we founded the company in 2002.  In 2008, after successfully partnering with CBS on a wide-range of environmental projects, EcoMedia became the newest addition to the CBS Corporation portfolio, exponentially scaling our reach across television, radio, interactive, publishing and outdoor media.

Through our patent-pending EcoAd, WellnessAd, and EducationAd programs, an innovative twist on traditional advertising, advertisers are able to support much-needed local projects which, in turn, creates jobs, saves taxpayer money, and improves the quality of life in communities nationwide.  In the process, we’re fundamentally altering the advertising landscape, elevating the ordinary, traditional commercial – and media, in general – into a catalyst for tangible, quantifiable social change.
