Are You Still In? The President May Not Be On Board, But These 2,000 U.S. Organizations' Leaders Still Are!
As the President of the United States began the laborious process of reneging on the historic global agreement to address the challenges of climate change reached in Paris at the COP 21 meetings in 2015, the reaction inside the country by thought leaders and important economic players was swift and decisive: The "We Are Still In" movement was launched by private parties and state and municipal-level government officials.

Corporate Sustainability Disclosure – On the Rise But Does the Disclosure Address What Investors Seeking?
The good news is that more public company managements are involved in, and approving, broader disclosure on sustainability information. There are widely-accepted frameworks in place to help boards and managements better understand the needs and desires of stakeholders -- especially providers of capital (asset owners, managers, analysts) seeking meaningful data and accompanying narrative to explain the progress being made (or lack thereof) in ESG performance.

Resolved! The USA Will Move Forward Despite the Administration's Cancellation of the Cop 21 -the Paris Accord
What's driving sustainability now without the official "push" of our national governmental infrastructure? For companies: compliance; corporate mission; business performance; employee satisfaction; industry (peer) recognition...and this means companies are holding firm with 50% of those surveyed are showing no change in budgeting for sustainability.

82% of the S&P 500(r) Published a Sustainability Report in 2016 - Analysis Just Released on the Index Universe of Leading Companies
Our first analysis was shared publicly in 2011, for the results of year 2010 company reporting. We found that just about 20% or one-in-five of the S&P 500 universe was publishing a sustainability report in some form. Now we have year 2016 results -- holding steady at 82%.

Encouraging News & Opinion Coming Out of Ceres Gathering in San Francisco -- Progress in Corporate Sustainability Continuing!
Water scarcity, resource depletion, climate change impacts... these were top-of-the-agenda items at the annual Ceres Conference convened last week in San Francisco. These of course are pressing challenges for the domestic and global business communities, for investors and various stakeholders. While there are many aspects to these issues to consider, the takeaway from the conference is that the focus on sustainability is good business (and good for business).

The Millennial Generation -- that's men and women born in the years 1982 to 2004 (according to researchers Neil Howe and William Strauss). This generation's members are ages 17 to 35, and now said to be outnumbering the previously dominant cohort of the Baby Boomers in the workplace (BBers were born 1946-1964, some 77 million in all).
