Today is Talk With Our Kids About Money Day!
Teachers, parents and guardians from the Territories (Northwest Territories, Nunavut and the Yukon) are joining their counterparts in all provinces to talk about money and help young people get a head start in their financial education. They are participating in Talk With Our Kids About Money Day (TWOKAM Day). The educational program, created by the Canadian Foundation for Economic Education (CFEE) and supported by Scotiabank, is celebrating its sixth anniversary.

To demonstrate our support following the recent tragedy involving the Humboldt Broncos Junior hockey team, Scotiabank is committing $300,000 in support of the people of Humboldt, Saskatchewan and area.

Race Weekend: Bank Awards Top Finishers Of Student Run/Relay
SCOTIABANK awarded the top finishers of the Student Run Relay segment of the Annual Sunshine Insurance Race Weekend. The top finishers, in the straight and mixed divisions, were presented with trophies and giftbags during a special ceremony hosted by Scotiabank.

Scotiabank Donates $500,000 to the University of Manitoba
Scotiabank has donated $500,000 to the University of Manitoba’s Front and Centre campaign, giving students’ academic support and opportunities to serve their community.

A portion of the new donation will help more Manitobans get the oral health care they need, while enhancing dentistry student training. The remainder will establish the Scotiabank Scholarship in Data Analytics in the Asper School of Business.

Scotiabank Impact Story: Building a Cooperative Future in Peru: the Manantial de Vida (Spring of Life) Dairy Co-op
The town of Cabeza de Toro sits about five hours south of Lima, in the agricultural heart of Peru. For the past decade, this agricultural center has been home to the Manantial de Vida (Spring of Life) Dairy Services Cooperative. Today, this farmer-owned cooperative produces and collects milk to feed Peru’s growing population, while simultaneously providing dairy farmers in the region with a viable income.

A $15,000 donation to the Williams Lake Minor Hockey Association during the Rogers Hometown Hockey weekend in the lakecity has its president speechless.

Scotiabank and Williams Lake branch manager Aaron Mannella made the presentation to WLMHA president Todd Isnardy Saturday, who was overwhelmed by the support.
