HP | Sustainable Impact Report Archives
Sustainability serves as a guiding principle for how HP does business, fueling the company’s innovation and growth. It supports HP’s vision of creating technology that makes life better for everyone, everywhere.
With the release of the HP 2016 Sustainability Report—the company’s first full-year of reporting HP Inc. data since separating from Hewlett-Packard Company in November 2015—HP demonstrates continued progress in reinventing a better future for everyone, everywhere.
For example, HP is now manufacturing Original HP ink cartridges made with plastic from bottles recycled in Haiti. HP has long been a leader in innovating closed-loop manufacturing processes. This initiative extends the positive environmental impact of these processes and creates social change in the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Working in partnership with Thread and the First Mile Coalition, this program is improving working conditions and creating educational and economic opportunities for the people of Haiti. See the impact this initiative is having through the story of Rosette Altidor, one of hundreds of people in Haiti who collect recyclables to help support their families.
Other highlights from the report:
- We set a new goal to reduce supply chain GHG emissions intensity 10 percent from 2015-2025, building on a 21% decrease in first-tier production supplier and product transportation-related GHG emissions intensity that was met in December 2015.
- We set new goals to double factory participation in supply chain sustainability programs, and to develop the skills and improve the well-being of 500,000 supplier factory workers, both by 2025, compared to 2015.
- We recycled 119,000 tonnes of hardware and supplies in 2016—and announced a new goal to achieve a volume of 1.2 million tonnes by 2025.
