SANTA CLARA, CA, October 8, 2013 /3BL Media/ – On Monday, Boys & Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley joined CA Technologies (NASDAQ: CA) in celebrating the grand opening of the CA Silicon Valley Technology Center. The event kicked off an exciting collaboration whereby CA Technologies will provide critical technology upgrades, including both computers and computer software, for Boys & Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley through the unique EducationAd advertising program offered by CBS EcoMedia.

Dana Fraticelli, President and CEO, Boys & Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley, welcomed CA Technologies to Silicon Valley and thanked them for their generous support. Boys & Girls Clubs members were also in attendance.

CA Technologies will soon host a Tech Girls Rock workshop at Boys & Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley. The Tech Girls Rock initiative helps girls discover and cultivate an interest in information technology (IT), and ultimately in tech-related educational opportunities and careers. The workshop will include a full day of activities for tween and teen girls, who will participate in career exploration panels, engage in discussions on key IT trends and topics, and join in technology-focused challenges and projects for hands-on experience. CA Technologies employees also will be involved in the workshops, giving their time to provide real-world experience.

“Technology access and skill development is critical in preparing our young people for a great future,” said Dana Fraticelli, President and CEO, Boys & Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley. “We’re thrilled that CA Technologies will be hosting a Tech Girls Rock workshop to get girls at our Club excited about technology. Their support is also helping us make much needed technology upgrades to our Clubs.”

Tech Girls Rock is part of Boys & Girls Clubs of America‘s strategy aimed at ensuring that all members graduate from high school on time, are equipped for a post-secondary education and a 21st-century career. Boys & Girls Clubs of America serves four million youth through Club membership and community outreach annually, of which 45 percent are female youth.

“CA Technologies is proud to partner with Boys & Girls Clubs of America to support and promote STEM learning,” said Erica Christensen, vice president, Corporate Social Responsibility, CA Technologies. “With this recent contribution to Boys & Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley, our goal is to help build technology capacity and encourage the development of future leaders in IT and all STEM fields.”

“We’re so excited to partner with CA Technologies and Boys & Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley to put state-of-the-art technology equipment into the hands of bright young minds,” said Paul Polizzotto, President and Founder of CBS EcoMedia Inc. “CA Technologies financial support through EcoMedia’s EducationAd program ensures that the young students have the tools necessary to develop the skills needed in today’s world. We commend CA Technologies and their Corporate Social Responsibility program, CA Together, for its commitment to improving quality of life and supporting STEM education in the communities it serves.
