Baker Hughes Foundation Donates $75,000 to the American Red Cross Houston To Support Hurricane Beryl Recovery
HOUSTON , July 10, 2024 /3BL/ - The Baker Hughes Foundation announced Wednesday a $75,000 grant to the American Red Cross Greater Houston Chapter to support those impacted by Hurricane Beryl, which lashed through southeast Texas and left behind a path of destruction July 8. A day after the storm, over 1 million households were still without power, and life-threatening heat is anticipated across the city for the next three days.
The American Red Cross has multiple shelters open and others on stand-by in the impacted area, along with over 400 volunteers deployed to support with recovery efforts. This donation will help provide comfort, shelter, and supplies to over 10,000 people in the impacted area.
