What is #My2020Hero?
#My2020Hero encourages people to share a photo and story on social media about a person who inspired or supported them during 2020.
The campaign is part of the Global Citizen Prize, an award show hosted by John Legend on Dec. 19, 2020, that celebrates the activists, world leaders, artists, and Global Citizens around the world working to create a better future for us all.
Why should I join?
This has been a challenging year for many of us, but through it all, everyday heroes have found ways to support their community. #My2020Hero is a chance to honor those people and showcase all of the bright spots of human connection and resilience this year.
When you share your 2020 Hero using our hashtag, we'll be watching! Your hero could be honored as part of this year's Global Citizen Prize!
Who should I honor?
Anyone who has made 2020 better for you or your community. Your 2020 Hero could be your dad who helped his neighbors get groceries during the pandemic, your best friend who texted you a joke each day, your kids’ teacher, or, of course, any of the incredible frontline workers you know. Now is the chance for all of us to take a moment to think about the people in our lives who stepped up this year and let them know how much we appreciate them.
