Campaign:
Give Jeans A Chance
(3BL Media / theCSRfeed) Costa Mesa, CA - July 26, 2011 - To kick off Volcom's 2011 Give Jeans a Chance drive, Volcom Entertainment, in collaboration with punk legends, Strung Out and the National Coalition for the Homeless, is giving your jeans a chance again in 2011, collecting used jeans to give to the homeless .
On September 10, 2011 at Alex’s Bar in Long Beach, CA., Strung Out will give a special performance with free entry granted to those that donate a pair of jeans in good condition. Volcom Entertainment will be onsite with a van for the donated jeans and once the venue has reached capacity, the doors will be closed and the show will begin. “We're stoked to be a part of the project,” said Strung Out band members. “We've been a part of the Volcom family for a long time and we were stoked to help out with this good cause when we got asked. Should be a great show…bring your jeans!” The day following the event, Strung Out and Volcom volunteers will bring all of the donations, as well as additional Volcom items such as socks and underwear, to the Long Beach Rescue Mission. The Mission provides a thrift store, which primarily services the needs of the homeless and also sells some of the collected jeans to support the Mission’s efforts. More information about the Long Beach Rescue Mission can be found at http://www.lbrm.org. Last year, Volcom’s “Give Jeans a Chance” campaign successfully collected over 12,500 pairs of jeans for the homeless and since it’s inception, more than 25,000 pairs of jeans around the world have been collected and donated. With the participation of Strung Out, this special event is sure to kick start the next chapter of the campaign which rolls out on September 1st, 2011 in more than 300 stores and 500 high schools across the country. Alex’s Bar is located at 2913 East Anaheim St. in Long Beach, CA. For additional info, please contact Floris Gierman Phone: 949-646-2175 fgierman@volcom.com About Volcom, Inc.
