Travel + Leisure Auction to Support Global Water Challenge and WaterHealth International
Founded in 2006 as an independent 501(c)3 organization, Global Water Challenge (GWC) works to raise awareness on our world’s most pressing water challenges and shine a light on effective solutions across developing world markets. GWC works with partners from across sectors to create innovative and sustainable partnerships that fund a number of high-impact water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) initiatives across the globe.
Travel + Leisure has formed a partnership with GWC to launch a Charitybuzz auction that will ultimately support WaterHealth International. WaterHealth utilizes a scalable model in developing world markets that deploys sustainable water purification plants, called WaterHealth Centres, to provide communities access to clean, safe and affordable drinking water for a lifetime.
The Travel + Leisure auction lot includes a variety of global vacation packages spanning four continents and once-in-a-lifetime celebrity experiences, including:
- A 6-night/7-day journey discovering India by staying in Travel + Leisure magazine's World's Best Hotel winner, The Oberi
- A 7-day Mediterranean cruise for two aboard the Seabourn
- The ultimate Houston Texans experience – four tickets on the 50-yard line and pre-field passes
- The chance to perform onstage with the Beach Boys
- A one-on-one lunch with actor, comedian and author of The Brink, Aasif Mandvi
