Campaign:
P&G | Community Impact
As we embark on a new year, we wanted to share some of the great things P&G brands and our people did to help families around the world in 2014:
- In November 2013, when the strongest storm ever to hit land whipped across the Philippines, P&G teams around the globe responded. Pampers, Safeguard, Duracell, Pantene and more than a dozen other brands joined together to help the 16 million people impacted and 4 million people left homeless. Together, P&G employees and our brands sent more than $3 million in personal care supplies, cash and P&G Purifier of Water packets.
- This year, The P&G Children’s Safe Drinking Water Program expanded its reach to over 75 countries and provided its 7 billionth liter of clean drinking water to a family in Brazil with NGO partner ChildFund.
- Since expanding our partnership with Habitat for Humanity to a global program about a year ago, P&G teams have built or cleaned more than 50 homes around the world. Habitat for Humanity is an international, non-profit organization that addresses the issues of poverty housing by building simple, decent and affordable housing for those in need. A Habitat family was recently featured on our own Home Made Simple television program.
- By mobilizing the power of the Vicks brand and its customers, the Vicks Breath for Life campaign in 2014 provided funds to help more than 700,000 children in Bangladesh through a network of village doctors.
- In Mexico, we're partnering with Save the Children in 79 schools to offer health and hygiene education. In one year, 865 children learned about puberty. We also partnered with 330 dentistry volunteers to conduct oral health screenings on 11,881 children, and we held oral hygiene education classes where children learned to care for their teeth.
Finally, here's a “Thank You” video message we received from Carolyn Miles, President and CEO of Save the Children (STC), one of our global nonprofit partners who help us provide programs and daily essential products when and where they're needed most.
