Hilton Reaches 20% Waste Reduction Goal
Hilton Worldwide was recently mentioned in Environmental Leader regarding its five-year goal to reduce waste output by 20 percent. Hilton reached this goal two years ahead of schedule, according to data from its LightStay sustainability measurement system.
Results show the company reduced waste output by 23.3 percent against the 2008 baseline. The 2011 Lightstay report reveals that the company has reduced energy consumption by 9.7 percent, carbon output by 10.3 percent and water use by 7.5 percent, using the same 2008 baseline.
