Banorte Social Responsibility, a Year of Fulfillment and Commitment

(3BL Media / theCSRfeed) - December 30, 2011 - In late 2010 we began our BanorteRS social networking project. A year later, we have:

  • Shared a number of our Social Responsibility initiatives and achievements -  of which we are very proud;

  • Organized campaigns for our collaborators;

  • Posted photos of events and activities;

  • Promoted campaigns conducted by other organizations;

  • Shared news, information about Social Responsibility, and "tips" to make our actions more sustainable

  • Invited others to promote social responsibility;

But above all, we have considered your suggestions and comments about our social responsibility to improve what we do in partnership with you!

Our year concludes with a number of accomplishments: We are the first financial group to sign an agreement with CONAPRED (National Discrimination Prevention Council)  to prevent discrimination, and we joined  the Sustainable IPC Index of the Bolsa Mexicana de Valores. We were nominated for the "Sustainable Bank of the Year" award organized by the Financial Times and the International Finance Corporation, and we were a finalist for “Sustainability Awards 2011.” We integrated social responsibility into our Annual Report, and we received the Socially Responsible Business Distinction from CEMEFI (the Mexican Center for Philanthropy) among other accomplishments.
 
Our social responsibility work has also been reflected in several prestigious awards granted to our company in 2011: we were recognized as "Best Bank in Mexico" in the "Euromoney 2011 Awards of Excellence"; we were awarded the "SME Award 2011" given by the Mexican Ministry of Economy; and we were awarded "Bank of the Year 2011" by the Financial Times Group.
 
A new year begins and thus our work to implement key projects, initiate others, and further our commitment to give our best to continuously improve and sustain our social responsibility efforts for the benefit of you and all of our stakeholders. To make Mexico stronger!
