(3BL Media / theCSRfeed) August 17, 2011 - Such an award is given to the bank that has shown excellence in sustainable actions; that is, in its economic, social, and environmental aspects. The award is Sustainable Bank of the Year, by regions: Africa/Middle East, Asia/Pacific, Europe, Other Regions (Cross-Regional), and the Americas.
During the assessment, besides providing information about our Social Responsibility, the objective was to continue strengthening the integration of CSR to the DNA of the organization. These types of awards encourage our associates to aspire, act, and commit to do more. We should point out that GFNorte was the only Mexican organization to become a finalist in the Latin American region. As we can see, Banorte is showing its leadership and a good beginning of its Social Responsibility program; which, only after two years of having been implemented (2009), is already getting international recognition. We commend all those who, through their actions, make of Banorte an exemplary bank. Let us continue our efforts to reach the recognition of Sustainable Bank of the Year as well as some of the other categories from FT/IFC: Sustainable Asset Owner of the Year, Sustainable Asset Manager of the Year, Achievement in Basic Needs Financing y Achievement in Banking at the Base of the Pyramid.
