World Environment Center Elects New Emeritus Directors

May 7, 2019 /3BL Media/ - As part of an ongoing commitment to expand its thought leadership, diversity and effectiveness as a global sustainability organization, the World Environment Center’s Board of Directors has elected the following individuals as Emeritus Directors:

• Linda Fisher, Dupont (retired) – served on the WEC board from 2012 – 2018. Linda was the Vice President for Safety and Environment and Chief Sustainability Officer for 11 years before retiring. Prior to Dupont, she worked for the United States Environmental Protection Agency she was Deputy Administrator; Assistant Administrator - Office of Prevention, Pesticides and Toxic Substances; Assistant Administrator - Office of Policy, Planning and Evaluation; and Chief of Staff to the EPA Administrator.  She was also Vice President of Government Affairs for Monsanto Company. Linda was also "Of Counsel" with the law firm Latham & Watkins. She attended George Washington University for a Masters in Business Administration, Miami University for a B.A. and the Ohio State University for a law degree.
• Jeff Seabright, Unilever – served on the WEC board from 2005-2012.  Jeff is the chief sustainability officer of Unilever. He is responsible for driving transformational change in priority areas of Unilever’s Sustainable Living Plan through advocacy and partnerships.  Previously, Jeff serve as vice president for environmental and water resources at the Coca-Cola Company. He began his career as a strategy consultant with Booz Allen & Hamilton and went on to serve as foreign service officer with the U.S. State Department, based in Brussels.  Jeff received his Masters in International Relations at the London School of Economics.
• Neil Hawkins, Dow (retired) – served on the WEC board from 2009-2015.  Neil is President of the Fred A. and Barbara M. Erb Family Foundation.  Previously Neil served as the Chief Sustainability Officer and Corporate Vice President for Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) for The Dow Chemical Company. Neil is a global leader in sustainable business practices, EH&S management, and public policy platforms for global sustainable development. He led Dow’s 2025 Sustainability Goals development, which aim to help chart a new course for business in global sustainable development.  During his tenure, he has been the architect of many groundbreaking collaborations, including the Dow/Nature Conservancy Collaboration on valuing nature in business decisions, which won the Harvard Roy Family Award for Environmental Partnership, as well as the innovative Dow Sustainability Graduate Fellows Program at the University of Michigan.
• Jane Nelson, Harvard – served on the WEC board from 2007-2013.  Jane is Director of the Corporate Responsibility Initiative at Harvard Kennedy School, and a nonresident senior fellow at the Brookings Institution. She was a director and then senior advisor at the Prince of Wales International Business Leaders Forum from 1993 to 2013, has been a senior associate with the Institute for Sustainability Leadership at Cambridge University and serves as Co-Chair of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Food Systems Innovation. She has co-authored five books and over 100 reports and articles on business and sustainable development and serves on a variety of corporate and nonprofit boards and advisory councils.
