World Environment Center Announces the Appointment of New President and CEO, Lori Michelin
April 23, 2018 /3BL Media/ - The World Environment Center (WEC) today announced the appointment of Lori Michelin as their new CEO & President. Ms. Michelin will oversee WEC’s world-recognized programs and strategic mission to advance sustainable development and corporate sustainability in partnership with governments, multilateral organizations, the private sector, and other stakeholders. Ms. Michelin comes from the Colgate-Palmolive Company, where she led their global sustainability initiatives as the Vice-President of Sustainability and Environmental, Health, and Safety.
“After a comprehensive search and transition process, the WEC Board of Directors is delighted to ask Lori to lead WEC," said Francisco Suarez Hernandez, Chair of WEC’s Board of Directors and Director of Coca-Cola FEMSA’s New Business Initiatives. "Lori’s experience in directing complex corporate sustainability strategies and her commitment to environmentally-focused business operations makes her exceptionally well-suited to continue positioning WEC as a world leader in this field."
Ms. Lori Michelin is a member of the Board of Directors of the EcoHealth Alliance and a former member of the Closed Loop Fund Advisory Board, the World Resources Institute Corporate Consultative Advisory Board, the Consumer Goods Forum Sustainability Steering Team, The Sustainability Consortium, Sustainability 50, and the Conference Board EHS Leaders Group. She received her Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Villanova University and holds a degree in Civil Engineering from Pennsylvania State University.
