Whirlpool Corporation to Present at the Energy Efficiency Global Forum 2014

BENTON HARBOR, MI, May 20, 2014 /3BL Media/ – Whirlpool Corporation (WHR), the world's leading global manufacturer and marketer of major home appliances, will present at EE Global 2014 in Washington, D.C., from May 20-21. Whirlpool efficiency experts Dave Szczupak, executive vice president, global product organization; Nathan Mouw, director, government regulatory affairs; and Ron Voglewede, global sustainability director, will share insights and key learnings on the broad industry topic of energy efficiency.

EE Global is hosted by the Alliance to Save Energy, a nonprofit coalition of business, government, environmental and consumer leaders. The event welcomes 500 high-level representatives from industry, government and academia, and hailing from 28 countries.

The three Whirlpool speakers will join more than 120 energy experts from around the world. Experts participate in either a dialogue-focused roundtable as part of a plenary session or engage participants in conversation during an executive dialogue session. Executive Dialogue sessions cover one of four main themes: government leadership, market transformation, the built environment, and investment and financing.

  • Dave Szczupak will speak during the opening plenary session on Tuesday, May 20, from 10-11:30 a.m. EDT.  The session is titled, “Dateline 2030: How could the future energy landscape impact the business of energy efficiency?”. Industry thought leaders will discuss how predicted changes in the energy landscape may impact their ability to produce, sell and innovate energy-efficient products and services.
  • Nathan Mouw will participate in an executive dialogue session on Wednesday, May 21, from 1:45-3:00 p.m. EDT. His session will address, “How do advances in technology affect possibilities for EE standards and harmonization?”.
  • Ron Voglewede will be part of the executive dialogue session also on Wednesday, May 21, from 1:45-3:00 p.m. EDT.  The session will discuss, “Amidst aging infrastructure and a changing environment, how are facilities taking steps to become independent from the grid?”.
