Wendy's: It's All About Food, Family & Community
By most standards, last week was busy. Not only did friends and fans tell us we won the internet with the most epic tweet of 2017 (their words, not ours), we also published our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainability year-in-review. It was eye opening and enjoyable to look back and see all that our Wendy’s family had accomplished in 2016.
It also provided a forum to examine areas where we can push to do more and do better in 2017.
Since 1969, we’ve strived to be a place where joy and opportunity can be found through food, family and community. We get there through constant iteration, examination and a little self-awareness. So we took the time in 2016 to really think about what we stand for. And it was during this time that we found the words:
“To Create Joy & Opportunity through Food, Family & Community”
This isn’t a new purpose statement. It’s been there all along, and we’re pleased these words so accurately articulate what the Wendy’s brand stands for today.
Let’s get real - getting this right when every customer visits our restaurants is pretty much impossible, but we’re going to do our best to try. And when we get it wrong? Let us know so we can do better or make it right.
The same goes for our responsibility progress and sustainability commitments. We’ve made great strides over the last few decades, and we plan on doing more. We’ll keep you updated along the way, too. Take some time to read about our progress and share what you think about how we’re “looking ahead” to 2017 and beyond.
