ROCHESTER, Minn., May 8, 2019 /3BL Media/ — The Well Living Lab announced a new alliance member program for organizations to demonstrate their commitment to transforming health and well-being in the indoor environment.

The Well Living Lab, a collaboration of Delos™ and Mayo Clinic, is the first research center dedicated exclusively to integrating health and building science to discover how to improve indoor spaces where people live, work and play. The original alliance launched when the lab first opened in mid-2016 and brought together 23 members from around the world. The new alliance member program is designed to broaden the ecosystem by attracting companies from industries such as technology, health and healthcare, wellness, hospitality, senior living, academia, foundations, builders and construction, architecture, transportation and real estate.

“We are serving as a catalyst to bring like-minded organizations together,” says Brent Bauer, M.D., Medical Director of the Well Living Lab and a Mayo Clinic physician. “Our research is designed to discover practical ways that buildings and what’s in them can positively contribute to a person’s health and well-being.”

The Well Living Lab’s research plan includes human-subject studies about stress and resiliency, performance, sleep, comfort and health and well-being. Air quality, sound, lighting, temperature, humidity and elements of nature in indoor spaces are just a few aspects of indoor environments that the lab studies. The reconfigurable laboratory has spaces that simulate both home environments and workplaces.

“Companies are increasingly committed to making a positive societal impact in today’s world and this is an opportunity to demonstrate leadership in a unique way,” says Barbara Spurrier, Managing Director, Well Living Lab.

One-year and three-year alliance memberships are available at $35,000 and $85,000, respectively. Alliance member benefits include knowledge-sharing, networking and marketing support. Members can participate in an annual alliance summit; educational webinars; a showcase event with insights from Delos, Mayo Clinic, and the lab’s scientific advisory council, as well as receive discounts to attend the Mayo Clinic Transform global innovation conference and get access to a private networking portal.
