Voya Foundation Announces Third Quarter 2014 Grant Recipients
Foundation maintains commitment to financial literacy and children’s education through support for local non-profit organizations

(NYSE: VOYA), which has rebranded from ING U.S., continues to invest in organizations that advance education and financial literacy through its charitable giving arm, the Voya Foundation. The Foundation announced today that six non-profit organizations will receive grants in third quarter 2014 to support education initiatives across the country. Third quarter grant recipients include:
- Citizens’ Committee for Children (New York, N.Y.) – Voya will serve as lead sponsor for the Citizens’ Committee’s Keeping Track Online initiative, which provides an online program for parents, educators and city planners to assess children’s education and overall well-being, both locally and city-wide for 1.7 million children in New York City.
- National Academy Foundation (New York, N.Y.) – Funding will support the Academy’s nationwide Academy of Finance program, which provides 22,000 students in 34 states with access to industry-specific curricula and the opportunity to gain real-life job skills by working with professionals in a business environment.
- The Children’s Museum (West Hartford, Conn.) – Voya’s grant will support The Children’s Museum’s Science Achievement and Immersion program, which allows 500 low-income children to participate in hands-on science education lessons and activities.
- Free Arts for Abused Children of New York City (New York, N.Y.) – Funding will support the organization’s Free Arts Day at Voya’s New York office. The program matches 25-75 underserved and at-risk children with Voya volunteers for a day of theme-based art activities designed to foster resiliency and self-confidence.
- San Antonio Public Library Foundation (San Antonio, Texas) – Voya will provide funding for the San Antonio Books Festival, a free, day-long event featuring readings and discussions with 70 acclaimed authors, food, entertainment and children’s learning activities all reflecting the history of San Antonio.
- PartnersFinancial Charitable Foundation (Austin, Texas) – Voya’s support for PartnersFinancial’s small grants program will fund scholarships for low-income students majoring in insurance or the actuarial sciences, as well as children’s and financial education programming in communities served by both Voya Financial and PartnersFinancial.
Through charitable giving, the Voya Foundation focuses on exemplary programs in the areas of financial education and children’s education, in order to help build an educated workforce and to make an impact in reducing the student dropout rate.
