Volunteers in Action: Brown-Forman Employee Provides Meals to Children at Maryhurst

Volunteers for Maryhurst Inc. help children build positive relationships with adults, Shannon Benovitz, director of marketing and communications for the nonprofit organization, said in an email to Business First.
The agency helps teenage girls who have been abused or neglected.
"Our children have been severely abused and traumatized and as a result have trouble trusting adults and forming healthy relationships," Benovitz said. "Volunteers can provide vital relationship-building opportunities for our children."
Maryhurst also relies on volunteers to provide donations and help at fund-raising events.
Lori Mohr, a senior buyer at Brown-Forman Corp., helps the organization by providing monthly dinners for children and their families.
