VolunteerMatch Announces First Annual FestiVOL, a Week-Long Celebration of Volunteering in Honor of National Volunteer Week
VolunteerMatch is putting the strength of its network and brand behind celebrating volunteering.
April 4, 2014 /3BL Media/ - VolunteerMatch, the Web's largest volunteer engagement network, today announced the first annual FestiVOL, a week-long celebration of volunteering in honor of National Volunteer Week.
This year occurring April 6-12, 2014, National Volunteer Week is typically a time for recognizing the contribution of volunteers to our communities and the world. With FestiVOL, VolunteerMatch will extend this mission to encompass its communities of volunteers, nonprofits and socially responsible businesses. The week will focus on providing inspiration, resources and action for anyone who cares about making a difference.
Each day of FestiVOL, VolunteerMatch will release three "nuggets" of content to its audiences about volunteering: one piece of inspiration, one piece of knowledge and one action. It's VolunteerMatch's hope that individuals, nonprofits and companies will share these nuggets with friends and family, increasing engagement and involvement across the United States.
Additionally, VolunteerMatch is encouraging everyone to join in FestiVOL by following the hashtag #FestiVOL on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and posting their own stories, pictures, inspiration and resources to celebrate volunteering.
"Volunteering is the best. We all know it - so now let's show it," said Shari Ilsen, director of engagement at VolunteerMatch. "FestiVOL is about the fun side of volunteering and volunteer engagement, and how that fun side can help us all connect to the causes we care about and the successful ways to solve the world's problems."
