Tetra Tech’s Lamine Cisse Wins Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Superstar Award
Recognizing outstanding performance in support of the West African Biodiversity and Climate Change program
Tetra Tech recognized Lamine Cisse with the Superstar award for his stellar performance and work in the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) sector.
Tetra Tech’s biannual MEL Superstar award recognizes outstanding performance of an individual or team working in the MEL sector. The winner demonstrates initiative and remarkable performance building MEL capacity among staff, partners, and beneficiaries.
This year we recognized Tetra Tech’s Lamine Cisse as the MEL Superstar for his involvement in the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)-funded West Africa Biodiversity and Climate Change (WA-BiCC) program for providing outstanding leadership, management, and technical guidance to potential grantees.
Lamine works as the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist for the WA-BiCC project and has an educational background in local and public infrastructure development. Lamine also has experience with grants management, contributing to his ability to see the full picture of project data and work well with grantees.
Tetra Tech’s MEL Director, Rebecca Butterfield, praised Lamine for his work and contributions to the project, saying “[his] approach has surely strengthened the systems in place for data quality across an expansive project with multiple implementing partners and countries.”
For the WA-BiCC main office in Accra, Ghana, Lamine created a reliable tool that measures the M&E capacity of potential grantees and provides recommendations for grantee selection. Lamine used his aptitude for data collection and data management to design tools for grantees and partners to ensure that all data from across the project is collected with the same methodologies to improve data quality. Lamine also created a system to monitor the management of project staff, grantee staff, and even regional institutions in Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast, and Nigeria.
Tetra Tech and the WA-BiCC team thank Lamine for his exceptional record of achievements and unwavering dedication to develop effective M&E measuring systems.
