Tetra Tech Wins Three Québec Consulting Engineering Awards
Achieving three Québec Consulting Engineering Awards for bringing multidisciplinary projects to fruition
The Association des firmes de génie-conseil – Québec (AFG) recognized Tetra Tech with three Grands Prix du génie-conseil québécois (Québec Consulting Engineering Awards) for demonstrating how we are Leading with Science® to bring multidisciplinary projects to fruition. The awards also recognize the importance of collaboration between clients, firms, and experts. Tetra Tech received the awards during a virtual event in September 2021.
Tetra Tech received an award in the Building Structure category for our structural and geotechnical solutions for the new Baie-Saint-Paul Hospital Complex. This sustainable building was designed with an optimized, adapted, and bold structural approach, while meeting Québec’s seismic requirements.
AFG also recognized Tetra Tech’s work in the Project Management category for the Turcot Interchange and Railway Reconstruction project. For the past 12 years, the AECOM and Tetra Tech consortium has overseen the project with the Québec Ministry of Transportation to reconstruct interchanges, freeway segments, railways, and municipal links. A combination of alternative and traditional conception methods made it possible to implement and integrate this project in an urban area, while also keeping Canada’s busiest road sector operational.
The third award we received was in the Industry category for modernizing Énergie Valero’s Jean-Gaulin Refinery’s water treatment system, improving the facility’s performance and reliability while adding nitrification. The biological reactor treatment, developed in collaboration with Tetra Tech, offers redundancy and safe, reliable operations directly contributing to environmental protection.
