TD Named to Macleans and Corporate Knights Rankings
June 10, 2014 /3BL Media/ – TD ranked 9th on the Corporate Knights 2014 Best 50 Corporate Citizens in Canada list. Corporate Knights considered Canadian corporations with at least 2,000 employees and revenues of $2 billion and then ranked qualifiers based on 12 key performance indicators (KPIs) spanning resource, employee and financial management.
TD was also included on Maclean's list of Canada’s Top 50 Socially Responsible Corporations of 2014. Recognition was given to TD for being the first Canadian commercial bank to offer its clients a green bond – a three-year, $500-million bond to fund Canadian projects that contribute to a low-carbon economy, and for its new Sustainable Energy-Efficient Design (SEED) concept branch. By including elements such as a community garden, sustainable interior materials and energy efficient technology, the Mississauga SEED branch merges environmental sustainability with legendary customer service. Based on research done by Sustainalytics the Top 50 list is composed of best-of-sector companies that perform well across key environmental and social dimensions within their industries and exhibit leadership with respect to corporate sustainability in Canada.

TD's 2013 Corporate Responsibility Report details the bank's social, environmental and governance efforts of the last year, emphasizing the importance of listening to stakeholders as the financial industry seeks to restore public trust.
Some of the 2013 highlights include:
· Commitment to its customers and helping them build their financial knowledge, with more than 620,000 visitors to TD Helps.
· Being an environmental leader by protecting 25,000 acres [Canada uses metric – more than 10,000 hectares] of critical forest habitat through the TD Forests program and planting more than 48,000 trees in 165 communities through TD Tree Days.
· Reaching over 1.8 million children through its children's literacy programs to help foster a lifelong love of reading, which is paramount for future success.
