TD Bank Group Joins as One of 11 Banks in a United Nations Pilot to Test Climate Transparency in Financial Markets
TD Bank Group is proud to join a pioneer project led by the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) to help strengthen transparency of climate-related risks in financial markets. Based on the final recommendations by the Mark Carney-Michael Bloomberg Task-Force published last month, TD along with 10 of the world's leading banks, will work towards applying key elements of the ground-breaking framework to expand the assessment of climate-related risks in its businesses. In doing so, financial institutions will be better able to identify climate-friendly opportunities and ultimately help create more stability in the financial system.
TD's participation in this first-in-industry initiative further strengthens the bank's commitment to supporting the transition to a prosperous low-carbon economy.
