Take Action. Earn Tickets. Have Impact!
HP LIFE e-learners and supporters can earn a chance to win festival tickets, thanks to new HP/Global Poverty Project partnership
Since 2007, the HP Learning Initiative for Entrepreneurs (HP LIFE) has touched more than 2 million people, and created about 57,000 jobs. And less than a year ago, the initiative—which helps prepare entrepreneurs for small business success—went fully online. This means virtually anyone, anywhere, anytime can access cloud-based, free business and IT skills training, and a global community of like-minded people. In addition, HP employee volunteers offer support as e-mentors. Now, thanks to a new partnership between HP and The Global Poverty Project, would-be entrepreneurs and supporters of the HP LIFE e-Learning initiative can earn a chance to be part of the Global Citizen Festival, Sept. 28, in Central Park, New York City, while raising awareness of the potential global impact of even the smallest businesses.
The Global Poverty Project is an international education and advocacy organization working to catalyze the movement to end extreme poverty. It organizes the Global Citizen Festival, a free ticketed concert which, this year, is scheduled to showcase top talent and celebrities including Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, Kings of Leon, and John Mayer, and be broadcast via live stream around the world to an audience of some 15 million. Socially conscious fans can take action to earn their admission to the Global Citizen Festival via the innovative Global Citizen online platform and mobile application, which tracks and rewards activists through a point-scoring system.
Through the partnership, Global Citizens who register on HP LIFE earn three points while learning more about the power of entrepreneurship. For each HP LIFE module aspiring entrepreneurs complete, they receive not only their certificate of completion from HP but also five Global Citizen points. Additional points can be earned on the Global Citizen website by watching, voting for, and sharing favorite HP LIFE entrepreneur stories – all of which are hugely inspirational. Once participants have collected eight points, they can enter the draw to win two tickets to the Global Citizen Festival.
HP and The Global Poverty Project make good partners, sharing a common vision and a belief in the power of technology to affect social change. Both understand that many people around the world have entrepreneurial ambition and ideas, yet lack access to skills and the opportunity to turn their ideas into a better life. Harnessing the power of technology, HP LIFE gives e-learners the chance to acquire skills essential to starting their own business, creating jobs, and helping to build a more prosperous society.
New HP LIFE modules and features are being added regularly, expanding the range of available topics and language versions. Join more than 60,000 registered e-learners from over 200 countries around the world, take a look at the module choices today, and watch how some HP LIFE entrepreneurs have already turned their dreams into reality.
