Sustainability Goes Global in CBRE’s 4th Annual Green Week!
From the 10th-14th October 2016, CBRE celebrated all things sustainability through its annual global Green Week. In its fourth year, Green Week 2016 was bigger and better than ever. This year, each region took a slightly different approach – here are some highlights.
‘Building Community’ in the Americas

In the Americas, this year’s Green Week campaign focused on building relationships with local communities. Some highlights included a Habitat for Humanity build day in Cleveland, volunteering at a Food Bank in Denver, a clothing donation drive for Dress for Success, and tree planting in Colombia.
APAC ‘Acts Today for Tomorrow’s World’

This year saw a significant increase in activity across APAC for CBRE Green Week. This year’s campaign encouraged employees to ‘Act Today for Tomorrow’s World’, demonstrating key innovations that could create a more sustainable future whilst encouraging staff to think about small things that they could do to make a difference. Highlights included a Tesla Showcase event in Australia, a Bread Run in Hong Kong, a second hand charity auction and fun run in China, as well as green building site tours and community clean-up events across the region. Employees were also encouraged to take part in a Random Acts of Sustainability social media campaign, using the hashtag #CBREGreenWeek.
EMEA Encourages Employees to ‘Be Well’

This year, Green Week in EMEA focused on health and wellbeing. Working together, Sustainability and HR teams led a campaign encouraging employees to consider their own wellness, whilst exploring the relationship between the built environment and human health and what CBRE’s role is in this space. Highlights included nutrition workshops, various fitness competitions, and a number of guest lectures, as well as the launch of our Wellness in the Workplace research.
