Subaru Joins Philabundance to Spread the Love this Valentine’s Day
Cherry Hill, N.J., February 7, 2013 /3BL Media/ – Subaru is teaming with Philabundance, an organization dedicated to addressing hunger needs in the Delaware Valley, for the annual Spread the Love program. Through February 15, Philabundance is collecting as much peanut butter and jelly as possible to help fight hunger in the region, and Subaru is helping by donating a jar of peanut butter or jelly for each “Like” received on the Philabundance Facebook Page.
The average child will eat 1,500 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches before he or she graduates high school, but many families in the Delaware Valley can’t afford this nutritious source of protein for their children. Philabundance is experiencing a 29 percent increase in need over last year, and a 98 percent increase in need over the last three years, underscoring the importance of this program.
“The Spread the Love campaign is a critical food drive for Philabundance because it is one of our main sources of peanut butter, a high protein, nutritious food that is in high demand by the community in need,” said Bill Clark, president and executive director of Philabundance. “’Spread the Love,’ made possible by the generous support of Subaru, is such a simple way for the community to get involved and it will really make a lasting impact in the fight against hunger.”
