Southwest "Conservation in Action" Tour Completes 4 Projects Across the Southwest!
Volunteers Make a Difference in Albuquerque, Phoenix, and LA!
Monday, June 20, the team rolled in to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Volunteers improved a wetland area at the Albuquerque Open Spaces Visitors Center, removing non-native plants and planting seedlings in the area.
The RV's next stop was Phoenix, Arizona and the Rio Salado Audubon Center. More than 70 volunteers, including Southwest Airlines CEO Gary Kelly, worked on three projects at the center: trail maintenance, trash clean-up, and removal of invasive plants.
June 30, volunteers worked with Million Trees LA and Heart of LA (HOLA) to distribute more than 200 trees in the LA community and to judge a HOLA art competition.
