Southwest Airlines Pilot Shows Kids that Dreams Really Can Come True
Since Emily was five years old, her life dream involved bright lights, a tutu, and slipping into pink satin pointe shoes. Now 12 years old, this little girl never imagined that a Southwest Airlines Pilot would play a big part in helping her realize her dream to be a professional ballet dancer. Her eyes are set on New York—about a two-hour plane ride from her small-town home in Trenton, MO, but to Emily, New York feels about a million miles away.
To celebrate National Dream Day today and for the next two weeks on Tuesday, September 4 and Monday, September 10, Southwest will feature snippets of this short film on the NUTS About Southwest blog, where viewers will find out how a Southwest Pilot in the airline’s Adopt-A-Pilot program took Emily’s dream on the dance floor to 30,000 feet. View the first teaser on Southwest’s YouTube and Viddy channels. On Tuesday, September 18, Southwest will host the world premiere of Emily’s video on its Facebook page.
