The Social Impact Leadership Conference (SILC) may have looked a little different this year, but it was no less inspiring. Hundreds of CSR leaders joined together virtually over three days to share best practices, discuss strategies, and inspire one another to continue making incredible happen. The idea of Agile Social Impact is not new around CyberGrants, but it is clear that now, more than ever, we need to continue to adapt and evolve our corporate philanthropy strategies to drive positive impact in the ways our communities need it most.

Top 5 Things We Learned:

  1. Agility in giving programs and strategies is imperative. As we are faced with increasing complexity in global causes, the ability to mobilize around causes, gather and analyze data in real-time, and modify and innovate your programs will allow you to maximize your impact.

  2. Grantmaking is evolving. Developing more strategic and integrated campaigns allows for multi-faceted granting. We’ve discussed this recently in webinars related to rapid response programs for COVID-19.

  3. Honoring employee passions drives engagement. Make your giving programs work for your employees to improve engagement and promote recurring giving. Employees want the ability to give to the causes they care about, in a way that works best for them. Participation in these programs tends to be influenced best by competition and peer-to-peer engagement.

  4. Virtual volunteering is not only possible, but exponentially impactful. Virtual, skills-based volunteering is increasingly necessary in the current environment, and volunteers can assist organizations with continued pandemic response in a multitude of ways. Some of the ways we’ve seen virtual volunteering in action include assembling supply kits, staffing crisis lines, distance learning, NPO operational consulting, digitizing existing services, and more.

  5. Empowering nonprofits is more important than ever. NPO engagement and collaboration is even easier now with the help of FrontDoor. NPOs now have a single location to manage all profile and transactional activity, allowing for faster disbursements. Corporate donors see the benefit of increased efficiencies with better data and transparencies.
