Sean DeMartino Elected to University of Florida's M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Building Design and Construction's Advisory Council Executive Committeehange2.net
ORLANDO, Fla., March 18, 2013 /3BL Media/ - Sean DeMartino, division president for Balfour Beatty Construction in Florida, has been elected to the University of Florida M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Building Design and Construction’s Advisory Council Executive Committee.
On the committee, DeMartino will join a select group of fellow industry leaders (and avid Gator fans) in serving a five year term to guide the business and affairs of the building and construction design department. Current initiatives for committee members include:
- Promoting industry relations via further development of the School’s student internship program, faculty internship program, and research programs with industry partners;
- Providing continuous review of the Rinker School’s undergraduate and graduate curricula and ensuring coursework is appropriate for industry demands; and
- Supporting fundraising, networking, and alumni programming and recognition.
“This is an incredible honor, both personally and for the Balfour Beatty Florida Division,” DeMartino said. “The Florida Division counts so many talented Gator alumni within our talent pool, and this is a great opportunity to give back to an institution that has greatly assisted in our collective successes.”
In addition to his Advisory Council Executive Committee, DeMartino will be further honored next spring as the 2014 Distinguished Alumnus. This prestigious award is presented each spring to just one outstanding alumnus from the M.E. Rinker, Sr. School during its Graduation Dinner.
DeMartino graduated from the University of Florida in 1993 with a degree in Building Construction. He joined Balfour Beatty Construction in 1993 and has more than 20 years experience in the construction industry.
