SAP Sustainability 2.0?
There’s a very short list of public figures who have become memorable for their commuting habits—mainly because their efforts to help the environment are so, well, unique.
Vice President Joe Biden famously rides Amtrak to work from Maryland to Washington, D.C. In Massachusetts, former Governor and one-time presidential candidate Mike Dukakis was known for his love of the ‘T,’ Boston’s subway and trolley system.
Add to that list SAP co-CEO Jim Hagemann Snabe, who is reportedly using a new SAP corporate carpooling application (for sale now) to hitch a ride to work with his fellow employees.
Anyone mildly unsure about SAP’s commitment to sustainability need only picture Snabe happily clutching his commuter mug and chatting about HANA on his way to Walldorf. The journey to being among the world’s most sustainable companies, and continuing to try to sell its customers on using its software to achieve that status as well, is clearly a ride SAP has committed to going the distance on.
