Be The Match, operated by the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP), has named Sanofi’s Hematology and Transplant team as the recipient of its 2015 Philanthropy Award. The team received this honor for its efforts and contribution in supporting the mission of NMDP and Be The Match, such as facilitating bone marrow screenings for Sanofi employees.

To date, more than 300 Sanofi employees have joined the registry. Along with supporting the registry, Sanofi raises awareness about Be The Match among medical practitioners by educating them on the impact of timing of referral to transplant.

“We’ve worked for many years with Be The Match, and it’s been an honor. We plan to continue supporting that mission, as we know stem cell transplant has come a long way over the years but there’s still work to be done,” said Kevin Campbell, Senior Director of Hematology and Transplant.

The award was presented recently at the 2015 NMDP/Be The Match Council Meeting in Minnesota. Working extensively over the past 25 years Be The Match, operated by the National Marrow Donor Program, has managed the largest and most diverse marrow registry in the world. The other 2015 award winners and honorable mentions represent some of the best examples of how patients, organizations and storytelling come together to create ground-breaking experiences to effectively help save lives.
