Sanofi Pasteur Receives Wellbeing Award From The Commonwealth Medical College
Award underscores company philanthropic commitments and vision
Sanofi Pasteur Receives Wellbeing Award
Sanofi Pasteur is proud to announce it is the recipient of The Commonwealth Medical College (TCMC) Wellbeing Award. Frank Epifano, vice president, North America and global finance, commercial operations, accepted the award on October 16 at Mohegan Sun Pocono. Dr. David Greenberg, associate vice president and regional medical head, North America, and Ellyn Schindler, director, North America Corporate Social Responsibility and community engagement, accompanied Epifano.
Sanofi Pasteur received a specially commissioned sculpture titled Bouquet of Light. The sculpture symbolizes enlightened wellness, capturing the spirit of the word bouquet, which suggests nature and growth -- important parts of wellness.
“The Commonwealth Medical College’s Wellbeing Award speaks to our philanthropic commitments as well as our company’s vision of a world in which no one suffers or dies from a vaccine preventable disease,” said Epifano. “We are proud to work with community partners such as The Commonwealth Medical College to collectively raise the bar for healthcare in Northeastern Pennsylvania, and help ensure a new generation of medical professionals for the area.”
Sanofi Pasteur has been a supporter of TCMC since its founding in 2008, and former Sanofi Pasteur Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Dave Williams served as a founding board member. The Sanofi Pasteur and TCMC visions are closely aligned, and various Sanofi Pasteur employees have served as adjunct professors and acted in various roles at the college.
U.S. Representative Lou Barletta of Pennsylvania’s 11th District recently entered a statement recognizing Sanofi Pasteur into the Congressional Record of the 11th Congress, Second Session. The statement included the following comment: “Many of my constituents work at Sanofi Pasteur’s U.S. headquarters in Swiftwater, PA, and each and every day they are the ones that strive to create a world where no one suffers or dies from vaccine-preventable diseases. Sanofi Pasteur’s impact in Northeastern Pennsylvania goes beyond simply employing 2,500 of the region’s most dedicated employees; they also have a strong focus on community engagement. Whether investing more than $1 billion in the region or partnering with VaxServe in the greater Scranton area to donate more than $870,000 to local nonprofits, the company has consistently exemplified the positive impact that a private entity can have on a region’s economy and citizens.” Click the attached PDF file to read the entire statement.
