Safety Program Recognized with Local Awards

DEERFIELD, Ill., April 10, 2014 /3BL Media/ – Baxter International Inc. (NYSE: BAX) was recently recognized for safety performance. Baxter China’s Guangzhou manufacturing plant is one of 12 recipients of the Guangzhou Economic and Technological Development District’s (GETDD) 2013 Excellent Safety Culture Company Award for dedication to creating a safe manufacturing environment and culture. The 400 companies that participated in the competition were graded on 10 safety criteria including commitment, continuous improvement, policy and vision. The Guangzhou facility received 288 points out of 300 to receive the recognition. GETDD is one of 78 National Economic and Technological Development Districts in China.

Baxter strives to create a culture that supports health and wellness, and promoting a safe and healthy workplace is one of the company’s sustainability priorities. Baxter’s São Paulo facility in Brazil also recently received the Health and Safety Excellence Award from Sindusfarma, the union for the Pharmaceutical Products industry in the state of São Paulo.
