Run in Key Human Services’ 4th Annual 5K Run, One Mile Walk, and Kids Fun Run
(3BL Media) Farmington, CT – August 6, 2012 – On September 8, 2012, runners, walkers, and kids ready to race will toe the line in Key Human Services’ 4th Annual 5K Run, One Mile Walk, and Kids Fun Run. Sanctioned by USA Track and Field, the event takes place at scenic West Hartford Reservoir on Route 4 in the Metropolitan District.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. on race day. The 5K begins at 9 a.m. The Kids Fun Run starts right before the 5K and is open to children ages 12 and younger.
Trophies will be awarded to the top three male and female 5K finishers, and all children will receive an award for participating in the Fun Run. There will be refreshments for all participants after the race.
Until August 27, entry fees are $20 for the 5K Run and One Mile Walk and $5 for the Kids Fun Run. There is a group rate of $75 for groups of four or more. After August 27, it costs $25 for the 5K and One Mile Walk and $7 for the Fun Run. The first 100 people to register receive a free t-shirt. Participants can register online.
The 5K Run, One Mile Walk, and Kids Fun Run benefit Key Human Services. Key is a nonprofit agency of Keystone Human Services and has been providing services for people with disabilities throughout Connecticut since 1989. Key provides support for individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism, children’s early intervention services, and specialized nursing services, as well as support for older persons to remain independent in their own homes.
