Rockwell Automation Earns Silver Status as a 2020 Vets Ready Employer in Wisconsin
February 9, 2021 /3BL Media/ - Rockwell Automation is proud to be honored as a 2020 Vets Ready Employer by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, earning a silver status.
Recognized organizations go above and beyond to support the veteran community. Applicants are rated on hiring practices, how they connect to the veteran community, and the support they provide to veterans in their workforce.
“The veterans’ workforce brings tremendous value to our organization by providing skills and capabilities developed through years of dedication and service. They also bring diverse perspectives, a strong work ethic, and solid technical project management and leadership skills,” said Co Nguyen, vice president of quality for Rockwell Automation and executive sponsor of Rockwell’s Military Veterans and Allies Group in Milwaukee. “We go the extra mile to hire and support veterans because we know what a valued talent pool this is. Veterans are helping us address a critical skill shortage in manufacturing and bring the experiences hiring managers need.”
Rockwell offers various programs to support veterans, including its Academy of Advanced Manufacturing (AAM). Created in 2017 by Rockwell and Manpower Group, AAM provides an intensive 12-week program that prepares veterans for highly sought manufacturing jobs, such as certified instrumentation, automation, and controls technician. More than 200 graduates have completed the program since its inception.
