Red Cross Leverages Access to FedEx Network for Blood Distribution
To manage the distribution of their current available blood supply, Red Cross is using FedEx Priority Alert service in conjunction with their in-kind account.
In just one day last month, they were able to use the account to send out several hundreds of units of blood which has the potential to save thousands of lives. The Red Cross is using their additional access to maintain a sufficient supply of blood products for patients nationwide, whenever and wherever it is needed most.
FedEx is a longtime supporter of the American Red Cross, and a founding member of their Annual Disaster Giving Program.
