Recycler Roundtable: Unlocking the Potential of Healthcare Plastics

The Healthcare Plastics Recycling Council (HPRC), in conjunction with the Plastics Industry Association(PLASTICS), is excited to host a Paper & Plastics Recycling Conference workshop aimed at helping recyclers plug into and learn more about the significant opportunity presented by health care plastics. The pre-conference event will be Wednesday, Oct. 11, from 8 a.m. to noon, and registration is FREE.

At this first-of-its-kind event, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Learn about health care plastics as a new feedstock, including resin types, forms, potential volumes and end markets.

  • Understand the compounder perspective related to these materials, including what they value and why.

  • Hear examples and real-life case studies showcasing successful hospital/recycler partnerships.

  • Participate in interactive breakout sessions on topics including partnering with hospitals to ensure a clean supply, establishing logistics and collection hubs and preparing materials for sale.

This event will help recyclers navigate the process of working with hospitals to capitalize on the millions of pounds of clean plastics that are available for recovery. HPRC hosted a similar event geared toward hospitals at the 2017 CleanMed conference, and we’re thrilled to continue the conversation with the recycling community.

If you’re a recycler looking to grow your business, health care plastics could be your next valuable stream. This workshop will be an excellent opportunity to get firsthand experience with the types of plastics available for recovery in hospitals and get all of your questions answered about how to create value with this material. We’d love to have you join us!
