A Record 32 Booz Allen Women Honored with Women of Color (WOC) in Technology Award
This year 32 Booz Allen women were recognized by the Women of Color in Technology Awards. This competitive national awards program honors the exceptional achievements of distinguished multicultural women who excel in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM). These impressive women work every day to help their country and communities protect and better serve their citizens.
On Oct. 14, award winners were honored at a luncheon in Detroit. This group of outstanding scientists, technologists, engineers, and mathematicians received Technology All-Star and Rising Star awards in recognition of their phenomenal contributions to the industry and dedication to their fields. Each of these winners brings a mix of consulting and advanced technology expertise to approach some of the most challenging problems facing our country today.
Booz Allen senior vice presidents Nicole Funk and Fred Blackburn are partner sponsors for the firm for WOC in STEM. Funk said of the awards, “It was an honor to be with these smart, talented women as they were recognized for their outstanding achievements in STEM. They represent the best of Booz Allen Hamilton.” Blackburn added, “Booz Allen leadership is proud of our colleagues who have been recognized as leaders in their field, and who work every day to provide innovative solutions to our clients. These women make me proud to be part of Booz Allen Hamilton.”
The awards ceremony is part of the 2016 National Women of Color STEM Conference, an annual event to recognize the significant accomplishments of minority women in the digital world and to attract and leverage talent in professional and technical positions. Booz Allen has participated in the awards for the past 12 years and this year’s winners join an impressive alumni group of 187 award winners.
