Qurate Retail Group Celebrates National Disability Employment Awareness Month
Qurate Retail Group is working to elevate disability-owned businesses and hosting events for team members on the history and achievements within the disability community
In honor of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, Qurate Retail GroupSM is using its production resources, television broadcasts and digital platforms to support disability-owned businesses and is hosting events for team members to celebrate the history, contributions and achievements within the disability community. Here’s a closer look at this month’s activities:

Small Business Spotlight: Ten disability-owned businesses – spanning home décor and innovations, kitchen/culinary, beauty, and accessories – have been selected to participate during October in Qurate Retail Group’s Small Business Spotlight, which supports entrepreneurs from underrepresented groups with national on-air and digital exposure, along with various other pro-bono, in-kind services. Five businesses will share their brand stories on-air on QVC® and HSN® at various times throughout the month, while an additional five businesses will appear on QVC2 in a half-hour special at 3 p.m. ET on October 15. In addition, participating businesses will be featured on Zulily®’s website. Learn more about this month’s participating businesses on QVC.com, HSN.com and Zulily.com. Team Member Events: SQUID Inc. (Supporting Qurate Individuals with Disabilities), Qurate Retail Group’s team member resource group (TMRG) that provides support for individuals with disabilities and their allies – is offering two team member events in October:

An insightful panel discussion will be hosted where team members will share how their disability completes them yet doesn’t define them, and how they’re more than just a person with a disability.

Keely Cat-Wells, award-winning entrepreneur and disability activist, will have a lively discussion with team members about her inspirational journey to becoming a trusted Disability advocate around the world.
