Fixed Wireless Access: 5G and Wi-Fi 6 to drive business growth Gautam Sheoran, Senior Director, Product Management, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. 5G is driving exciting opportunities and new experiences in the home and virtually everywhere. With data connections reaching over 5 kilometers, extended-range mmWave redefines perceptions that high-band spectrum is limited to urban and high-density deployment environments, and demonstrates its impressive range and its suitability for fixed wireless access (FWA). Such range will help service providers expand their coverage and open the door for new possibilities which will bring 5G benefits to homes and business everywhere, from urban to rural communities. To take advantage of exciting new possibilities such as the “enterprization” of the home, 5G and Wi-Fi 6 / 6E come together to support superb connectivity up to the last few feet without sacrificing performance. Join this session to see how 5G FWA, can provide a cost-effective way to deliver fiber-like speeds wirelessly over mmWave to institutions such as schools, hospitals and town halls, allows users to address some of the “last mile” challenges in rural areas – along with next-generation Wi-Fi to drive immersive new user possibilities. |
